Season 2016/17 - New Teams Required
The Greenock & District Welfare League is looking to expand for the 2016/17 season and applications are now being accepted from new teams interested in participating.
With all games played locally within the Gourock, Greenock and Port Glasgow area on some of the finest artificial surfaces in the West of Scotland, this is an excellent opportunity for those wishing to get involved with eleven aside football in a well-respected local association.
Now entered our 15th season of football in Inverclyde and surrounding areas, to date we have enjoyed 28 teams playing under our association with a total of 1,513 players participating in our various tournaments.
Additionally, the GDWL is associated to the Scottish Welfare Football Association, which is associated to the SFA, allowing our member clubs to compete against teams from further afield via national tournaments should they wish to enter.
Are you tired of organising pitches and referees every week? Let the GDWL officials take that burden off your plate with all parks and referees booked directly by the league.
At your final season or just finished at youth level and fancy a change? Open up your squads to some older, "experienced" players.
Tired of spending more time traveling to your game than actually playing every week or just fancy a different challenge?
Then contact the GDWL committee at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Play 7s every week with your pals? Why not enter a team.
Or perhaps round-up your workmates to form a workplace team.
Alternatively, our teams are often looking for players, particularly entering a new season.
Head along to our website and post your availability on the forums or log on to the Facebook page.
New referees are always welcome.
Contact our referee supervisor at email@example.com
We look forward to hearing from you.
